Compared with other flare gas flow measurement methods, the correlation transit-time method offers distinct advantages and can address a variety of complex measurement challenges. Typically, the gas in flare stacks, gas headers or branch pipes is a mixture of components from different sources, and the flow rate in flare systems may be unstable and even bidirectional. Pulsating pressure, fluctuations in composition and temperature, harsh operating environments, and wide flow rate ranges further add to measurement complexity.
